One of the county’s few facilities for the homeless and other at-risk residents was on the verge of closing last week, the latest victim of the economic downturn.

On this second trip that began in Philadelphia, his ultimate destination and purpose was to go to Georgia to establish an orphanage. He traveled through Maryland from Monday, December 3 through December 10, 1739 crossing the Potomac River into Virginia on December 11. He made his journal entries in the following places during that week: Northeast, Joppa, Newtown, Annapolis, Upper Marlborough, Port Tobacco, Piscataway, and Potomac.
